Because the sacraments unite us to Christ and his Body, the Church, all families preparing for sacramental
reception need to be registered and active parishioners of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of initiation. Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. Confirmation perfects our baptism and brings us the graces of the Holy Spirit that were granted to the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the sacrament of Baptism. If Baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, Confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age. Confirmation is a sacrament of empowerment. It gives the strength to follow Jesus and to become involved in the mission which Jesus left to the Church.

Confirmation strengthens and seals the graces of Baptism, helping us to live as disciples of Christ in the world. Two consecutive years of faith formation are required for this sacrament which is normally celebrated in the 10th grade. For example, beginning in the 9th grade, a child should eventually celebrate confirmation in the 10th grade. If, however, a child begins at another time (e.g., the 10th grade), he or she will celebrate confirmation after the second year of formation (e.g., the 11th grade).
